Global warming…we’ve all heard of it and on Jan. 31, IVCC
will be showing the documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” to students, faculty,
and those interested in learning about the ecological issue the world faces.
The documentary, created by former vice president Al Gore and
sponsored by PTK and POWER, dives into the science behind global warming and
presents the disheartening reality behind our global situation. There will be
two separate showings of the film.
The first showing is at 2 p.m. and will be located in D-228.
Pizza and soda will be available to those who attend and there will be a
raffling off of environmentally-efficient items such as compact fluorescent
bulbs. The second showing is at 6p.m. in C-316.
According to Hugh Baugher, President of PTK, “Students should
watch An Inconvenient Truth so that they can gain a better knowledge as to what
is happening to our environment as a whole and to learn what is causing these
changes.”
After the film, a discussion is scheduled, along with a
question and answer session. Contact IVCC professor Kim Abel with any questions
at 224-0330.
