DaVinci Code: Eyes Opened

After watching the DaVinci Code many times over, I have
developed a very strong opinion about some of the topics discussed in the movie.
First of all, a woman being an insult to the church is beyond
sexist. Maybe back in the day everyone understood it, but the movie is set in
the present and it is said, more than once, that women would still be considered
an insult. I think that the church’s rules need to be updated to realize that in
this day and age, everyone is created equal.
And personally, I think that Jesus having a child would make
everything more realistic. Not only would it not completely ruin religion, but
it would also make more people believe! I do not believe in religion, but having
proof with a blood line, that Jesus had a child, would mean that Jesus was real
and I would believe many things said in many religions then. However, with the
church denying that he had a child, to me is seems like the church is scared. If
someone went in search of a bloodline and could not find one, even though it
would prove the church correct, then it would make even fewer people believe
that there even was a Jesus because there is less proof.
Topics in this movie are from thousands of years ago. People
need to open their eyes and realize that things change. These are just a few
problems that I have with the topics from the movie, but I could easily go on.
Things need to be updated with the times, whether it helps the church or not.
Personally, if I were religious, I would like things to be current. If it proved
that certain people did not exist, at least then I would know that I need to
find something new and real to believe in.
