Tennis prepares for season

The IVCC men’s tennis team is looking to improve on last
season and the 2006 season looks very bright for the Eagles as the team is
returning 4foursophomores,and have four freshmen this year.
Returning for the Eagles from last year are Colby Lubanowski
(Ottawa) who last year played No. 2 singles and had a winning record and also
played No. 1 doubles.
Also returning is last year’s No. 6 singles regional champion
Nick Myers (Mendota). Myers went undefeated last year and will be playing no. 4
singles this year.
Joining the pair will be Adam Bulfer (Mendota) and Jonathan
Hinkey (St. Bede). Bulfer played No. 3 singles last year and will be playing No.
5 singles this year.
Hinkey was No. 5 singles last year and will play No. 7
singles this year.
Joining the sophomores are four promising freshmen. Kyle
Entwhistle and Dylan Slupianek from St. Bede, Patrick Kromm from Mendota and
Nick Wangelin from Princeton all are the squad.
Entwhistle will be playing No. 3 singles and teaming with
Lubanowski at the No. 1 doubles spot.
Slupianek will be playing No. 2 singles and teaming with
Myers at No. 2 doubles.
Coach Steve Swett is looking for good things from his two
doubles teams.
Kromm will be playing No. 6 singles while Wangelin will be
playing No. 8 singles.
The No. 3 doubles team is still be decided between the
combination of Wangelin, Kromm, Bulfer and Hinkey.
The Eagles kick off there season March 18.
