MySpace, music make powerful combination

MySpace, not only is it the wave of the future for
relationships and communication with people that range in age of 14 to 40, it’s
also the new and easily accessible way for “MySpacers” to discover new bands and
show support for their old favorites.
A band’s MySpace page acts as a more intimate way of being in
touch with a band, without having any real face to face contact at all...unless
you count all those trendy pictures people have on their accounts. Fans can find
out tour dates, listen to some of their favorite songs, or even read blogs
posted by the band themselves.
One of the main things that separates a MySpace page from Web
sites like Purevolume.com (MySpace’s musical predecessor), is that fans are able
to leave comments on the page, saying whatever they want to say. Comments run
the gambit from how a certain song has really affected them, to how they
absolutely loathe the latest album that a group has put out.
MySpace doesn’t just benefit the fans either. The bands
themselves could possibly benefit more than anyone else. For starters, having a
MySpace page is an easy and free way for a band to have a Web site. Many bands
that are just getting started don’t have the money to pay for a legitimate Web
site, so MySpace is a cheaper and almost as fun alternative.
MySpace is also an excellent way for bands to network with
each other as well. One of the main goals for many bands is to be able to play
their music outside of their area, in hopes of gaining new fans. With just a few
well typed sentences and a click of a mouse, and you may have yourself an entire
tour.
Along the same networking lines, smaller record labels now
scour the MySpace landscape looking for the next Fallout Boy or Avenged
Sevenfold. It’s essentially one stop shopping for these labels as they are able
to see the bands pictures, listen to their songs, and see how great of a fan
base the band actually has.
Whether it is a band looking to become famous, a record label
looking to find new talent or just a regular “MySpacer” looking to find some new
music, MySpace is sure to have something to keep fans of every genre happy..
