The search is on. The IVCC board of trustees is searching far
and wide across the surrounding areas to find the next IVCC Idol… sort of.
Illinois Valley Community College is hunting for the best
applicant to fill the position for the ninth president since the founding in
1924.
Anyone is able to fill out an application for the position or
to put in a nomination for someone found to be deserving. Each application will
be reviewed under careful consideration by the Board of Trustees.
Now available for viewing on the IVCC website is list of
Presidential Characteristics that prospective candidates should possess. The
list includes both professional and personal characteristics. “Things about
students first.” is at the top of the personal list which also notes the
candidate should be visible and accessible and appreciate the concepts of
diversity.
The presidential search advisory committee was appointed at
the December board meeting and includes members of the faculty, staff,
community, foundation, board and student body. Members appointed include: Donald
Aleski, Steve Alvin, Hans Andrews, M. Blouke Carus, Stephen Charry, Diane

the process.
