Chorale getting ready for Spring Concert

The Illinois Valley Community College Chorale is beginning to rehearse for their Spring Concert.
The choir is open to anyone in the IVCC district who likes to sing. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. until the concert which is on Saturday, April 29. This year’s concert will include a variety of styles such as classical, jazz, medieval, pop, love songs and spirituals.
The director, Professor Norman Engstrom, holds degrees from Augustana College and the University of Minnesota and has performed with such groups as Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chicago Opera Theatre, Marriott’s Lincolnshire Theatre, Candlelight Dinner Playhouse and the Singing Men of Oak Brook
“Choral singing is not only an opportunity to study and sing music from Western civilization and other cultures, but is also a fun way to meet with other people and have a good time,” said Professor Engstrom.
To join the IVCC Chorale, simply attend a Monday evening rehearsal at 6 p.m. in room D223 on the IVCC campus or call Norm Engstrom at 224-0279 for more information.
