School House Rock Live! comes to IVCC

The Illinois Valley Community College theatre and music
departments will perform School House Rock Live! on March 16, 17, 18, and 19.
The performances will start at 8 p.m. in the Cultural Centre, Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday nights. The Sunday performance will begin at 2 p.m.
School House Rock Live! is about Tom, a nerve-wracked school
teacher nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching
TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from
the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music.
School House Rock Live! is a popular Saturday cartoon that
many fans have watched over the years. The music has been with many different
generations of cartoon viewers.
The cast will be singing many different songs such as,
“Conjunction Junction”, “Just a Bill”, “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly” and more well-known
School House Rock Live! songs.
School House Rock Live! is directed by Dr. David Allan
Kuester, musically directed by Norm Engstrom, and choreographed by Don Grant
Zellmer.
The cast includes: Jeff Kalina, Eric Chambliss, Mike Lewis,
Bob Gibson, Phil Claudnic, Steve Kwiatek, Bryce Wallace, Robert Calhan, Katie
Rainsburg, Emily Lainier, Amanda Sedlock, Gabrielle Green, Cheriz Kunkel,
Rebecca Gatlin, Ashley Larabee, and Meridith Donahue.
Tickets are five dollars or free with an IVCC student ID and
will be available at the Bookstore.
At the Thursday night performance there will be a free pizza
dinner for students with their IVCC student IDs and one guest.
