Walt Disney World College Program recruiters will be in the main lobby on Oct. 17 providing information about their program.
Apresentation describing what the program is and what is has to offer students is at 2 p.m. in the Cultural Center followed by interviews. Students must attend the presentation in order to have interview with a recruiter which immediately follow the presentation.
Kathy Glascock, director of Career Planning and Placement and the coordinator of the Walt Disney World College Program said the program offers many opportunities and experiences.
"Students have the opportunity to work at a Fortune 500 company; the experience to work in an environment rich in cultural diversity; and participate in some educational and training classes to make the experience meaningful in regards to career development, and learning about the world of work," she said.
"Students need to do research by visiting the website," she said. "They must also attend the presentation to be considered for the interview and stay in contact with me especially if they decide to attend the program."
There are currently ten IVCC students in the College Program, and Glascock said they are having positive experiences.
"Students report being really excited to have the opportunity to be part of something that is known throughout the world," she said.
College credits can also be earned while working for Disney.
"Students are able to enroll in course work through Disney and transfer back to IVCC after the experience is over," said Glascock. "In addition, they can participate in a documented work study program that helps to make the experience meaningful in the transfer of career development."
