What do you want to see in this newspaper?
We need to regularly review how we can better serve your needs and address your interests.
Our student body includes traditional college-age students and senior citizens, attending part-time and full-time, during the day, in the evenings, on weekends, and even on-line, for a number of different reasons. Understanding the needs and interests of such a diverse group is difficult.
At this time, we are in the process of a name change. Selecting a new name a serious matter for a newspaper that has been continuously published for 39 years provides us with a unique opportunity to examine and improve what we do.
Yes, we hear students say, "I never read the paper; theres nothing in it." We even hear, "I didnt know we had one." (That last one is a little hard for us to believe since copies of the paper are available in ten racks located throughout the main building and gym and online at the colleges web site, but weve heard it more than once.)
Those comments indicate we have a problem, but they arent very useful in helping us to identify and address the problem. What we need is constructive feedback.
What would you like to see, or see more of? What do you not want to see, or see less of?
On a continuing basis, if we do something you dont like, let us know. And if we do something you do like, also let us know.
Our goal is to do the best we can to inform, educate, challenge and entertain you.
We need your help to meet that goal.
