THE FISHER LINE COLUMN:  Thank you, Manuel

Apache co-editor

Finding inspiration on a daily basis is hard to come by. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that my inspiration would have come from a Spaniard.

With the fall semester starting, I found myself juggling more responsibilities than I could handle: two jobs, schoolwork, and the college newspaper. Being one of the co-editors for the newspaper was going to be some hard shoes to fill.

My right-hand man, my co-editor, Manuel Garcia Sanchez has been the backbone of the group. Manuel has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Not only is he our Spanish amigo, but our leader.

Manuel will be leaving us at the end of this semester. Needless to say he will be missed and his dedication, positive attitude, and his willingness to teach mid-west, white folk a thing or two about the Spanish language will not be forgotten. He has been an inspiration and a role model to the entire group.

We’ll miss his corny Spanish music and dance, but his tune will live on for years to come. We want to thank him for all his hard work this semester and we appreciate all the great times we’ve shared. It really has been a semester to remember.

From the entire newspaper staff, we want to say: “Gracias, Senor Manuel.”
