IVCC is hosting a four-mile race that will take runners on paved roads, through woods, and in one door of a building and out another.
In the words of organizer Dennis Summers, the course, which is entirely on IVCC property, is "one of the most unusual I have ever run."
Race time for the Fall 4 Mile Cross Country Classic is 9 a.m. Oct. 14 with check in at 8 a.m.
Last year, the first for the race, 66 people entered with 60 people finishing, Summers said. He predicted the runners would double this year because the race is on the Starved Rock Runners Race Circuit, allowing members of that group to earn points by participating.
The overall male and female winners and the top three finishers in each of 11 men's and women's divisions will receive awards.
Entry fees are $13 for advanced registration, which is due by Oct. 13, or $18 on race day. Further information is available from Summers at maddogrun@yahoo.com or from Fran Brolley, director of public information at 224-0466.
