The latest price increase affecting IVCC students greeted them in the cafeteria on the first day of fall classes. The cafeteria changed the prices on certain items.

Among the items affected are sandwiches, cheese sticks and entrees. The highest increase was on cheese sticks, which went up $1.15. At the lower end, cream cheese and muffins increased only 5 cents.

Paul Liddle, cafeteria manager, said the prices went up because the cost of the products went up, and in order to keep the items on the menu, he had to increase the prices.

"The prices change only because of necessity," Liddle said.

Not only are the prices new, but some items have been added to the menu, including breaded cauliflower, jalepeno poppers, French toast sticks, pizza and barbecue pork sandwiches.
