The Student Nurse Association and members of the nursing staff raised $2,500 to aid in the fight against cancer by participating in two events.

Walking in honor of nursing instructor Judith Krafcky, students and staff members participated in the Race for the Cure Cancer Walk in Peoria May 8 and the Relay for Life at Hall High School in Spring Valley on June 28.

In upcoming events, the SNA is sponsoring a Bloodmobile/Bone Marrow Drive on campus Sept. 29. Sign ups are being accepted at a table in building C.

The SNA is also selling nursing clipboards, available in the Nursing Lab for $13.50. SNA public relations officer Marianna Barkley said the clipboards are "great to use at clinical helping to keep everything organized and they make a great gift."
