Jacob Frost of Princeton was elected freshman representative to the Student Government Association during freshman elections Sept. 9 and 19.
Frost will be joined by Nathan Holmes of Princeton and Kristin Nienaber of Putnam who will fill the two freshman programming board slots.
Frost and Holmes received 117 votes and Nienaber received 42 write-ins to edge out fellow write-in Thomas McVey who received 34. A total of 159 students voted.
Cory Tomasson, SGA advisor, said quite a few students took out petitions for freshman positions but did not return them. He said he wished more students would get involved by running for the SGA and by voting. He added that the number of voters for the freshman elections is usually low.
"I’m certainly not disappointed with
the people who ran and won," Tomasson said. "After
talking with them I’m quite optimistic."
At a Sept. 14 meeting, the first attended by the new members, SGA
